    DETAILED ITINERARY – MACHAME ROUTE
    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or the Moshi bus terminal, our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest, relax, and prepare for your adventure. Overnight in Moshi.
    Altitude: 1,800m ➝ 3,000m Hiking Time: 5–6 hours Environment: Rainforest After breakfast, drive 30–40 minutes to Machame Gate for registration. Begin your trek through lush rainforest, passing giant ferns, hanging moss, and ancient trees draped in mist. The trail gradually climbs to Machame Camp, where your tent and hot dinner await. Overnight at Machame Camp.
    Altitude: 3,000m ➝ 3,840m Hiking Time: 3–4 hours Environment: Moorland Today you leave the forest behind. After breakfast, begin the ascent into the open Moorland zone, walking across volcanic rock and heather landscapes. If the skies are clear, enjoy sweeping views of Mount Meru, Kibo Peak, and the rugged plains below. Dinner and overnight at Shira Camp on the high plateau.
    Altitude: 3,840m ➝ 4,600m ➝ 3,940m Hiking Time: 7–8 hours Environment: Alpine Desert A key acclimatization day. Trek towards the iconic Lava Tower at 4,600m, where you pause for lunch. Then descend into the beautiful Baranco Valley, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and towering peaks. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to altitude. Dinner and overnight at Baranco Camp.
    Altitude: 3,940m ➝ 4,100m Hiking Time: 1–2 hours Environment: Alpine Desert Begin the morning by tackling the famous Baranco Wall, an exciting non-technical climb offering incredible views. Traverse the ridges and cross valleys until you reach Karanga Valley Camp. Enjoy hot lunch, rest, and acclimatization time before dinner. Overnight at Karanga Valley Camp.
    Altitude: 4,100m ➝ 4,600m Hiking Time: 3–4 hours Environment: Alpine Desert After breakfast, continue ascending through the dry high-altitude desert to Barafu Camp, your base camp before the summit attempt. After lunch, take a short acclimatization hike 200m higher. Eat early, rest early—your summit push begins at midnight. Overnight at Barafu Camp.
    Altitude: 4,600m ➝ 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) ➝ 3,000m Hiking Time: 12–14 hours total Environment: Arctic ➝ Rainforest Around midnight, with headlamps lighting the path, begin your summit ascent. Trek slowly (“Pole Pole”) up the steep slopes toward Stella Point. As dawn breaks, you will reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime achievement! Descend back to Barafu Camp for lunch, then continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight. A long, rewarding day. Overnight at Barafu Camp.
    Altitude: 3,000m ➝ 1,650m Hiking Time: 3–4 hours Environment: Rainforest After breakfast, descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your climbing certificate and meet the vehicle returning you to your hotel in Moshi. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and celebration after conquering Kilimanjaro! Overnight at Barafu Camp.
